Oral Hygiene and Eternal Life

Image
¡Hola Amigos y Familia! Before I get into it, it needs to be known Hermana Skinner makes fun of me for flossing every night. So Hermana Skinner and I have been doing a cute little activity I learned from one of my previous companions. We use it as an ice breaker/object lesson during our video lessons with families. This week it was pretty funny. We start out by asking everyone to draw a picture of a present they think the person next to them would like. It's pretty fun when little kids are involved because they can get creative. Anyways, this week we did it with a family and when it was our turn to present the drawings Hermana Skinner and I made for each other, I looked down to see what Hermana Skinner had drawn for me. She had drawn a pack of floss and a trip to the dentist's office. Hahahaha serious. The family laughed but you could tell they were sort of confused. Anyways, come to find out I am extremely passionate about oral hygiene AND the gospel of Jesus Christ.  This ...

Getting Good At Rejection

Image
¡Hola Familia y Amigos! Basically dating after the mission will be a breeze hahahahaha #rejection Well, I sent an email like 5 days ago but because today is Pioneer Day, we get p-day #2 this week!......which also means this upcoming Monday is not a p-day #bummer #9dayweek. Shoot me some emails. Tell me what's happening in life. Send pics, voice recordings, yummy recipes, etc. OR you can send CRUMBL ;) We love a needy hermana. Today I destroyed some elders in Four Square. It felt pretty good because they sort of demolished me in Spikeball. It was embarrassing. Took me back to my 4th grade days.  Also Hermana Skinner and I have decided to pick up running. We run every morning and it feels AMAZING until 10am rolls around and my head is bobbing during studies. Not really sure if the running is going to do anything, especially if we keep up with our weekly eating habits. We got Fizz twice this week and I'm pretty sure that's not healthy.  Hermana Skinner is great. I seriousl...

His Grace Is Sufficient

¡Hola Familia y Amigos! Another week down! The weeks are starting to feel longer, not going to lie haha. We're really just praying COVID goes away. We're REALLY praying. Yesterday we had the opportunity to go to church though which was amazing! We even got to go TWICE because I was asked to play the piano in both of the meetings our ward was holding. It felt so good to be able to put some names to faces. Or I guess half faces since everyone was wearing masks. Either way, it was so so good. Got my new companion! Hija #2 because Hermana Parker will never be replaced even if we only had 2 weeks together in Argentina hahaha. My new comp is named Hermana Skinner (McKin & Skin) and she's from Mesa, Arizona. We still live with my old old comp, Hermana Clark and her two companions so try and imagine 5 sister missionaries sharing 1 bathroom and that's what life has been like in a nutshell. But Hermana Skinner is great. Trying to learn Spanish, the lessons, and how to be a ...

24 Crumbl Cookies and Faith in the Lord

¡Hola Familia y Amigos! Another week down, a lot more to go!  This week was good, missionary work is good, even if COVID has yet to to away. That's how you know it's the work of the Lord :) I was sitting in a meeting a few weeks ago when an elder shared how awesome it is missionary work was made to adapt. I had never thought about it that way. The world is changing, and while the gospel and doctrine of Jesus Christ never will, the way we as missionaries adapt to needs of those we teach sure will.  Also, I'm training a new hermana! "Training" probably isn't the right word but she's new to the mission and I'm excited to be able to...learn with her haha. Wish I knew more and/or had more time in the SLCW mission but this is when I hand it over to the Lord I guess. Transfers happen tomorrow so we'll see how this next week goes for the Oquirrh Point 5B hermanas! Keep us in your prayers porfa! Shoutout to mom and dad for not just one party box from CRUM...

Happy 4th of July!!! 🇺🇸

Image
¡Hola Familia y Amigos! Happy 4th of July!!! Seriously one of my FAVORITE holidays! So grateful for this country and the freedoms we have here!  You GUYS!!! I talked to Ariel from ARGENTINA this week! It was the BEST and I miss him (and everyone else I met there) a TON! He had the BEST questions!!! So happy he's still reading his Book of Mormon. I just about sobbed through the whole cita. Basically I've decided if I have the opportunity to finish my mission in Argentina, I'm doing it. Not quite sure if that's a possibility for me but an hermana can dream.  Also, hit my 10 month mark! Whoop whoop!  Currently opening up a new area with my new companion Hermana Shields! She's so cute and so nice and just radiates positivity. We're only going to be together for 8 more days which is weird but I feel like I've learned a lot from her and am grateful we get to be companions, even if it's just for 2 weeks. We've been trying to get in contact with all of the...

Do not mix tie dye and whites in the washer

¡Hola Familia y Amigos! "Whites" #iykyk This week was rough. But a good rough. The kind that makes you grow and laugh because you're thinking, "no this is not really happening" (see subject of email) when in reality, it very much is.   But I'm happy to be here! Life's crazy! There are lots of things I could throw in this email but I decided that what I really want to do is highlight some of the things I have been asked/told (lol) while serving as missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ. Kinda fun.   1. Do you believe in the Trinity?   As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we believe in the Godhead, or God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost as three separate beings. God is our loving Heavenly Father who sent His son Jesus Christ to the earth to atone for our sins. Both God and Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and bone while the Holy Ghost does not. The Holy Ghost is a personage of Spirit, who testifies and bears wit...

"It is not our successes, but rather our sacrifices and efforts...

¡Hola Familia y Amigos! ...that matter to the Lord." -Terence M. Vinson It's only 3pm and I feel beyond tired hahaha. This morning we decided to go hike the Lake Blanche Trail up Big Cottonwood Canyon and it felt SO nice to get out of the house...even if I have blisters on both feet and a half broken left ankle. Chacos did not come in clutch but the time outside was worth it. Also, ANY excuse to drive by Post Malone's house ;) This week felt long. We've tried to fill our schedules with more service projects to get us outside and helping people. This week we got together with about 12 other elders to rip out a ton of weeds for this lady in our ward. She's from Argentina and is so so sweet. She has 2 kids she's trying to get out on missions but they're not super fond of that idea which makes me sad.  The Guitierrez family sold their home so we're the last group of missionaries they'll live with. I think I mentioned this last week but they've hou...
