Getting Good At Rejection

 ¡Hola Familia y Amigos!

Basically dating after the mission will be a breeze hahahahaha #rejection

Well, I sent an email like 5 days ago but because today is Pioneer Day, we get p-day #2 this week!......which also means this upcoming Monday is not a p-day #bummer #9dayweek. Shoot me some emails. Tell me what's happening in life. Send pics, voice recordings, yummy recipes, etc. OR you can send CRUMBL ;) We love a needy hermana.

Today I destroyed some elders in Four Square. It felt pretty good because they sort of demolished me in Spikeball. It was embarrassing. Took me back to my 4th grade days.

Also Hermana Skinner and I have decided to pick up running. We run every morning and it feels AMAZING until 10am rolls around and my head is bobbing during studies. Not really sure if the running is going to do anything, especially if we keep up with our weekly eating habits. We got Fizz twice this week and I'm pretty sure that's not healthy.

Hermana Skinner is great. I seriously have lucked out with every single one of my companions so far. They have all been awesome and Hermana Skinner makes me laugh SO hard. I love her. For some reason she always says "misionerias" instead of "misioneras" and no matter HOW many times I correct her......it's always misionerias. Hahaha love it.

Today we dropped off a Book of Mormon to Emily! She is 17 and amazing. I love her. She has really good questions and the Spirit is so strong when we teach. Honestly, feeling grateful to be serving here in the SLCW mission because I can visit EVERYONE after I finish serving!

I've done more studying and grinding this week. This week Hermana Skinner and I listened to another one of my favorite BYU Devotionals, "Stand Forever" by Lawrence E. Corbridge. As a member of the Seventy, he was assigned by the First Presidency of the Church to look into anti-LDS material. He said it was the worst, but that he learned a lot about how the adversary works and how we can recognize truth. Here are some of my notes:

•the kingdom of God will stand forever. The question is whether or not you will stand with it?
•"knowledge is CRUCIAL to avoid deception"
•the challenge is closing the gap between our BELIEFS and TRUTH
•ANSWER THE PRIMARY QUESTIONS FIRST AND THE SECONDARY QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED
•the primary questions are the most important. Everything else is suboordinate. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
•The primary questions:
-Is there a God who is our Father?
-Is Jesus Christ the Son of God, the     Savior of the World?
  -Was Joseph Smith a prophet?
-Is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints the kingdom of God on the earth?
•experience plays a vital role in coming to know the truth
•the Lord gives us knowledge through the Holy Ghost
•the worst human condition = to die spiritually
•the best human condition = to be endowed with Heavenly power, to have the gift of the Holy Ghost, the power to know all things

Wow truth is so important. Life is crazy and there is so much deception out there. Satan works hard. But, I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who has not left us to fend for ourselves here alone. I am so thankful He loves and WANTS to communicate with us. I know God is our loving Heavenly Father. I know He loves me, and you, and everyone else who has lived, is living, or will live on the earth. We are all children of God! EVERYONE! EVER!

Ahhhh the gospel is true. I want all of you to come to a knowledge of the things I teach and know for myself. I know because I followed the counsel listed in James 1:5. PLEASE contact me, or your local missionaries, if you have ANY questions or just plain curiosity about Jesus Christ's New Testament Church restored! I would love love loveeeeee to listen and talk about what I know to be true!

Life is good. It's crazy, especially right now, but it's good. Thank you for all of your support and prayers. Hermana McKin loves you.

Love love loveeeeeee,
Hermana McKinlay
