Happy 4th of July!!! 🇺🇸

Image
¡Hola Familia y Amigos! Happy 4th of July!!! Seriously one of my FAVORITE holidays! So grateful for this country and the freedoms we have here!  You GUYS!!! I talked to Ariel from ARGENTINA this week! It was the BEST and I miss him (and everyone else I met there) a TON! He had the BEST questions!!! So happy he's still reading his Book of Mormon. I just about sobbed through the whole cita. Basically I've decided if I have the opportunity to finish my mission in Argentina, I'm doing it. Not quite sure if that's a possibility for me but an hermana can dream.  Also, hit my 10 month mark! Whoop whoop!  Currently opening up a new area with my new companion Hermana Shields! She's so cute and so nice and just radiates positivity. We're only going to be together for 8 more days which is weird but I feel like I've learned a lot from her and am grateful we get to be companions, even if it's just for 2 weeks. We've been trying to get in contact with all of the...

Do not mix tie dye and whites in the washer

¡Hola Familia y Amigos! "Whites" #iykyk This week was rough. But a good rough. The kind that makes you grow and laugh because you're thinking, "no this is not really happening" (see subject of email) when in reality, it very much is.   But I'm happy to be here! Life's crazy! There are lots of things I could throw in this email but I decided that what I really want to do is highlight some of the things I have been asked/told (lol) while serving as missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ. Kinda fun.   1. Do you believe in the Trinity?   As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we believe in the Godhead, or God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost as three separate beings. God is our loving Heavenly Father who sent His son Jesus Christ to the earth to atone for our sins. Both God and Jesus Christ have bodies of flesh and bone while the Holy Ghost does not. The Holy Ghost is a personage of Spirit, who testifies and bears wit...

¡Hola Familia y Amigos! ...that matter to the Lord." -Terence M. Vinson It's only 3pm and I feel beyond tired hahaha. This morning we decided to go hike the Lake Blanche Trail up Big Cottonwood Canyon and it felt SO nice to get out of the house...even if I have blisters on both feet and a half broken left ankle. Chacos did not come in clutch but the time outside was worth it. Also, ANY excuse to drive by Post Malone's house ;) This week felt long. We've tried to fill our schedules with more service projects to get us outside and helping people. This week we got together with about 12 other elders to rip out a ton of weeds for this lady in our ward. She's from Argentina and is so so sweet. She has 2 kids she's trying to get out on missions but they're not super fond of that idea which makes me sad.  The Guitierrez family sold their home so we're the last group of missionaries they'll live with. I think I mentioned this last week but they've hou...

Mission Round TWO!

Image
¡Hola Familia y Amigos! Just a heads up for those of you who have read this far ;) I can only communicate with friends or extended family through email. It's really sad haha but email me if anything exciting happens!  Made it to Salt Lake on Tuesday! Super far flight haha. It was actually really cool walking through the airport and seeing so many missionaries arriving and departing.Time for round 2!  At the mission office (which is just a part of a church building #utah) I met my mission president and his cute wife, President and Sister McBeth. After that, I met my companions (hay dos!) Hermana Jenkins and Clark. I still am not really sure which one is which hahahaha I'm dead serious I mix up their names ALL the time and feel SO awkward trying to get a glance at their tags. I don't think they've noticed yet which is good. Having two companions is stressful. Anyways, (I THINK) Hermana Clark is from Kansas and she has 7 months in the field. Hermana Jenkins is from Calif...

Salta -> Salt Lake City ("Shut the front door!")

Hola familia y amigos!!! I want to say something like “not too much has happened since being home” and leave it at that but that’s a lie and I figure my mom will put all of my emails into a cute little book when I actually finish this mission thing and I don’t want two blank months right in the middle so HEY! Ok so this has been the wildest few weeks of my life. Beats anything else I’ve ever experienced. It’s sort of funny because life only gets crazier and just when I think I've got a grasp, I learn I don't. Like seriously. I don’t know what’s happened to my life this last WEEK even. It’s ok though, I figure the Lord is shaping me into who I need to be so that’s an exciting thought. Kind of a bummer I was so far from her to begin with hahahaha. Call to humility.  Coming home was a crazy experience. Summed up it was a 28 hour bus ride through Argentina with two lovely flights afterwards. I think I already wrote about that.   Next. I was really unsure abou...

Oh Hi!

Queridos Amigos y Familiares, Holy heck. Maybe I should just leave the email at that because it perfectly describes these last 2 weeks.  I arrived home safely last week after about 40-ish hours of traveling. The Church chartered a flight from Buenos Aires for about 570 missionaries. Because my mission is one of the northernmost (is that a word?) missions AND all of Argentina was on some sort of lockdown quarantine with all the province borders shut down...we had to stop for about an hour at every province border we passed through. What should have been a 20ish hour bus ride ended up being about 27 hours so that was awesome. Not to mention, the bus was 13 hours late to pick us up in Jujuy. Once we got to Buenos Aires, they dropped us off at the MTC right next to the temple. That's where the rest of the 500 or so missionaries were waiting. There were missionaries from Santa Fe, Rosario, etc. and I actually got to run into some missionaries from my MTC district who were in Sant...

Flight Plans

Hello Parents and presidents of the missionaries of the Mission Salta Argentina, Included is some information concerning the return flights of your children.     ·            We have arranged 2 charters to take the remaining North American missionaries to the United States on Saturday morning, April 4, at 8:00 and 10:00 am.  The flights are scheduled to arrive in Salt Lake City on Saturday evening at 5:10 pm and 7:10 pm, respectively.  ·            More detailed itineraries will be sent as soon as they are available, including those who have connecting flights out of Salt Lake.  However, given that flights can be delayed, it is possible that connecting flight itineraries will not be sent until we know the flights have left and have not impacted connections.  If connecting flights are not available until Sunday, April 5, your missionary will spend the night in a ...
