  Dear Parents,   As you are already aware, your son or daughter will soon be returning home from their current foreign mission assignment.  My wife and I also have a daughter who is serving in Argentina and will also be coming home soon.  As a result we find ourselves on the same “pins and needles” waiting for additional information….  I can only imagine the challenge it has been for each mission and the Missionary Department to handle the logistics of this huge undertaking.  I thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process.     We have been advised to limit the number of people welcoming each missionary at the airport upon their return.  Where possible, just the parents should pick up missionaries from the airport.   There are many questions that arise as a result of these missionary adjustments.  Although many of those questions have yet to be answered, please allow me to do what I can to answer a few quest...

  Family and Friends, These last few days haven't quite felt real.I keep thinking about how emotional I should be but to be completely honest I think I'm still in shock.  About 5 days ago the whole mission (Salta, Argentina) was put on quarantine to comply with the nationwide quarantine. Basically, we can't leave our apartments. Yesterday, we received a message from President Orquera that announced all foreigner missionaries will be returning to their native country. I saw it happening to a lot of my friends serving outside of the USA but then Hermana Parker and I received the news and just couldn't believe it.  I think the right word is heartbroken, but I guess this is the part of my mission where I learn to really hand it ALL over to the Lord. This is His work and I know He is more than aware of His missionaries. I so thankful for the 6 months I got to spend here in Argentina.   ¡Hola Amigos y Familia! Earlier this week I was worried about getting Salmonella but now it sounds like I should be more concerned about COVID-19 or whatever the heck it's called. Things are getting pretty serious it sounds down here in Argentina but we have yet to be completely quarantined so I guess that's a blessing. I don't really know. To be totally honest, I don't really know what's happening.........ever.  So on that reassuring note.....I'M TRAINING! Officially went to the mission office to pick up my "hija" (daughter) as we say here in the mission. There were 6 new hermanas; 2 Latinas, 2 from Brazil, and 2 Gringas. I sort of figured, "Hey, Heavenly Father knows my Castellano stinks but He's asked me to train so I'll probably get a Latina." Hahahaha I was very very wrong.   ¡Hola Familia y Amigos! So just when I was getting comfortable I got a call from my mission president. I'm going to train!!! For the next three months I will get to help a new hermana become adjusted to the mission and learn how to be a missionary. I don't really know exactly why I've been asked to train now (because I lowkey have 6 months in the mission AND I still don't really know that much Spanish) but I am SO excited to think that Heavenly Father has enough trust in me to let me train one of his missionaries! Woohoooo! Also! I get to stay in Ciudad de Nieva for 3 more months! I am soooooo happy!  I waved goodbye to Hermana Horton this morning. Transfers are the WORST! She is going to be a Sister Training Leader in Santiago del Estero......poor thing haha. She'll kill it. 11 hour bus ride... ¡Hola Familia y Amigos! This week was good! It's really all a blur but I took more pictures this week (because I guess my camera isn't broken???) so hopefully those will bring some memories and funny stories back to my memory as I type this out. Quick side note before I get into this: my mom is a nurse!!!!!!!!!!!! I love my mom she is my best friend so everyone give her a hug because I can't! Transfer calls are Sunday which means new comp and maybe new area?!?!?! Pretty positive I'm not training this transfer and I'm absolutely HEARTBROKEN when I think about saying goodbye to Hermana Jorton. We have laughed and planned her wedding WAY too much this transfer. I. Love. Her. Evvvveeeeen though she falls asleep in every single one of my prayers. Also she sneezes SO MUCH! The subject of my email is pretty much this week in a nutshell. Carnaval is kind of putting a fat barrier in the way of everything we want to do.  This week was just more biking (so much so Hermana Horton's bike broke..........again) and a LOT more rain. It's actually a miracle neither of us are sick because we spent a solid majority of this week just walking around drenched. Milagros y bendiciones nada más. Also Hermana Horton eats pancakes for both breakfast AND dinner so that's fun to watch and count haha. Transfers are in two weeks so we'll see what happens! ¡Hola Familia y Amigos! So we had a cita with Exequiel this week to teach him more about prophets, temples, etc. All that good stuff. I pulled out a picture of all the general authorities and Exequiel sat there for a sec before saying, "Why are they all white?" It was pretty funny not going to lie. There's a solid amount of general authorities from South America but they all look white so we tried to explain that.  This week was kind of an odd week. Everyday was super overcast and rainy and Hermana Horton and I just kinda felt weird. At least 3 times once a day we'd look at each other and say something like, "Why is today so weird?" I think we were letting the weather get to us because we actually had a VERY productive week. The Sister Training Leaders came over yesterday to verify our weekly planning and they said they've never seen a companionship work so effectively.
