Onward and Upward!!!

 ¡Hola Familia y Amigos!


So just when I was getting comfortable I got a call from my mission president. I'm going to train!!! For the next three months I will get to help a new hermana become adjusted to the mission and learn how to be a missionary. I don't really know exactly why I've been asked to train now (because I lowkey have 6 months in the mission AND I still don't really know that much Spanish) but I am SO excited to think that Heavenly Father has enough trust in me to let me train one of his missionaries! Woohoooo! Also! I get to stay in Ciudad de Nieva for 3 more months! I am soooooo happy! 

I waved goodbye to Hermana Horton this morning. Transfers are the WORST! She is going to be a Sister Training Leader in Santiago del Estero......poor thing haha. She'll kill it. 11 hour bus ride...

There's an elder in my zone from Mexico who is trying to "win his girl back" and he's been writing her a lot of letters, trying to get my opinion on the subject. He gave Horton and I a ton of letters she wrote him the past year so guess what we did for language study this past week! Hahahaha it was the funnest language study I've ever had and all I'm going to say is Perla should write telenovelas. 

Had a baptism this week! Roxana is the sweetest and it was so amazing to watch her make such an important covenant with Heavenly Father!...even if she had to do it twice. Our ward mission leader told us it would take about 3 hours to fill the baptismal font but it ended up taking SIX.....sooooo see photo attached below.....we basically ran around like crazy people trying to dump every possible cup of water into the baptismal font. The church's water bill is going to be verrrrry high this month but it will be totally worth it.

Sad news: Hermana Steed went home last week. I'm not really sure what happened but I think it was more health issues. Broke my heart. 

As usual my brain is moving 100mph but I love you all so much. Thanks for all the prayers and emails and pictures! My fave!

¡Hola Amigos y Familia! If you know you know. This week went by reallllllyyyyy slow not going to lie. Patience is a virtue....I lack. I'm working on it.  Last week after p-day I had "divisiones" with a Hermana Cappa! There are two Hermana Cappas and they're over the whole Santiago Centro Zone. Hermana V. and I said goodbye for 24 hours to go on splits with the Hermana Cappas. Tender mercy, I was assigned to a gringa! She's actually going home this week so that kind of stunk (#trunky) BUT she was able to answer a lot (and I had a LOT) of questions. We went and did something called a "Tormenta Blanca" which basically means a group of elders and hermanas go to an area and help out the elders or hermanas assigned to that area. We went to an area in my zone called "Frias" which was a 3 hour bus ride away. SO, we woke up at 3:30am to catch the bus and started working right after we stepped off. "Why Are They All White?"

¡Hola Familia y Amigos! So we had a cita with Exequiel this week to teach him more about prophets, temples, etc. All that good stuff. I pulled out a picture of all the general authorities and Exequiel sat there for a sec before saying, "Why are they all white?" It was pretty funny not going to lie. There's a solid amount of general authorities from South America but they all look white so we tried to explain that.  This week was kind of an odd week. Everyday was super overcast and rainy and Hermana Horton and I just kinda felt weird. At least 3 times once a day we'd look at each other and say something like, "Why is today so weird?" I think we were letting the weather get to us because we actually had a VERY productive week. The Sister Training Leaders came over yesterday to verify our weekly planning and they said they've never seen a companionship work so effectively.
