16 Months! Wooohoo!

 ¡Hola Familia y Amigos!

Ok so I have been totally off my email-writing game these last two weeks which stinks because there have been SO MANY MIRACLES! God's hand has been so present these last few weeks and Hermana Jones and I are so lucky to have the chance to be a part of His work in the Lighthouse area right now.

So Judith brought her two daughters to church this week and it was awesome to meet them. One of them is 8 and the other is 11. They are adorable. We gave them a tour of the church and were talking about God when one of the little girls paused and said, "God is a god of miracles because now I am here with my mom." Judith has been here, away from her daughters, for a while and it has been so hard on her. One of the ward members, sweet Hermana Galvez, took Judith and her daughters right under her wing when they walked into church on Sunday. She actually made them move pews in the middle of the meeting so they could go sit next to her. Speaking of church, Ruby brought her kiddos! Ruby didn't come but she dropped her kids off. Lindsay was so attentive during the meeting and we were able to introduce her to the new youth program. She seemed excited about setting spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social goals. I think the new program is so dope.

We had Zone Conference this week and I was SO bummed because I was dead tired. Zone Conference is always such a spiritually edifying experience. The Spirit is always so strong and afterwards it feels like there is so much more work to do in your area. Even though I felt brain dead, we had some awesome trainings. One of my favorites was by Sister McBeth. We learned about the Book of Mormon and studied Lehi's dream. I love when Sister McBeth teaches because she always uses a ton of quotes from prophets and apostles, along with scriptures. She is my idol.

This week I studied a talk called "Approaching the Throne of God With Confidence" and it was incredible. It's by Jorg Klebingat from the October 2014 general conference. It's one of those talks that sort of slaps you in the face but encourages you to be better, which is all possible because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As we strive to be better, we grow closer to our Savior. Seems like a win-win.

Anyways, there was so much good this last week. I love my district. Every single missionary in my district inspires me and I am so sad transfers are next week. Can't believe it will be my last. Kinda dope but Hermana Jones and I get to go to the transfer board meeting tonight! That is one of my favorite things. Revelation is just flowing in those meetings. Love you all! Write me!

Love love loveeee,
Hermana McKinlay
