Round THREE

¡Hola Familia y Amigos!

Hermana McKin and Skin are taking on another transfer together!!!........andddddd I'm training again! Hahaha we picked up Hermana Goolde from the mission office today. She's cute. She's from Pennsylvania but also sort of from Virginia so I'm not really sure. But now she's in Utah soooo back to the trio life.

So so so happy to be with Hermana Skinner for another 6 weeks! We seriously have too much fun and normally in the SLCW mission you switch trainers for your last 6 weeks so we were super surprised to be staying together.

This week is morrrreeeee english classes. I actually think I'm starting to forget the alphabet the more I say it. This week we started teaching a woman english and for SOME reason she could NOT (bless her heart) pronounce the letter "L" We kept writing the world "el" on the whiteboard and explained how the two sound exactly the same but she kept saying "ER" After the 6th time, I started laughing pretty hard. I was trying to be SUBTLE about it when Hermana Skinner flipped the camera back on us. I had to duck so the lady couldn't see me but she totally knew I was laughing and no matter how bad I felt, I could NOT stop. I was probably laughing for a solid 2 minutes. It was so embarrassing. I am a horrible person ahahahaha

The english classes have brought some blessings one of which was a man named Armando who lives in Orem. Out of the mission so dang but also whoop whoop because now some other missionaries will get to teach him the gospel which is awesome! Anyways, we have been teaching Armando english and this last lesson we decided to share a spiritual thought. It was awesome. Hermana Skinner shared a scripture from 1 Nephi about God and when she finished reading the scripture he immediately asked, "where is that scripture from?" When we told him the Book of Mormon he responded with, "Where can I get one?!" I almost cried. We sent the reference to the missionaries in Orem and if all went as planned, he should have it right now! I never ever would have imagined Armando showing any interest in the gospel of Jesus Christ but the Spirit must have carried the message right to his heart.

More Jeffrey R. Holland this week. I studied a talk called "The First Great Commandment" and it is sooooo good. It's one of Hermana Skinner's favorites. He talks about when Christ appeared to Peter after his crucifixion and asked him three times if Peter loved him. Holland talks about what it means to be a disciple of Christ. It's powerful. I'll link it below. Holland is the best and I CANNOT wait to listen to General Conference this October.

I have also started listening to this guy named David Butler. I think he teaches institute at UVU. He's awesome and the way he breaks things down makes him so fun to listen to. Pre-COVID, he recorded a 5 part Restoration series where he talks about the most important truths revealed (otra vez) during the Restoration. Each episode is about an hour. Something he mentioned that I thought was pretty cool is how the writers/prophets from the Book of Mormon write as though the reader already knows and understands the Bible. He mentions how the Abrahamic Covenant is referred to in the Bible vs. How it's referred to in the Book of Mormon. It's pretty cool. He also pulls a lot of history from the Saints books. He makes me want to start reading them again.

Well, that's pretty much this last week in a nutshell. There's more....always more but I can't remember.

Thank you for all the nice emails and prayers! I appreciate it!

Love love lovvvveeeeee,
