Dear Families of the Argentine Mission Salta:

We share with you some news about what is happening with the missionaries here.

Many already know that Argentina is now in a period of national quarantine, which forces people not to leave their homes until Tuesday, March 31. The Argentine government is considering extending the quarantine for a while longer but we have no official news in this regard.

All missionaries are in good health and spirits. They have enough food and in many areas members bring them lunch. Others are learning to cook so simple recipes are welcome.

Most of them have access to the church computer to communicate with their families, Monday and Thursday. We have also sent their cell phone numbers so that you can call them through an international call to communicate with them throughout the week if needed. We know that for some families it is difficult to communicate since cell phones do not work properly here. We hope that missionaries can receive your support and strength at this special time.

We know that other missions in Argentina are sending missionaries (American and Canadian) home, but this is happening in Buenos Aires and other cities near the International Airport in Ezeiza.

The Argentina Salta Mission is far from Buenos Aires, so we are waiting to have information from the Presidency of the Area and we will communicate it to you quickly. At the moment we do not have any return date scheduled. We have to be patient.

Today, Sunday, March 29, we join in a worldwide fast to pray for the people and families who are suffering because of this trial. Our prayers are for the Lord to give spiritual, emotional and physical strength to each of his children, our children of the heart, our missionaries and to endure this moment with peace and trust in Our Lord.

“Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.” (D&C 123: 17)

¡Hola Amigos y Familia! If you know you know. This week went by reallllllyyyyy slow not going to lie. Patience is a virtue....I lack. I'm working on it.  Last week after p-day I had "divisiones" with a Hermana Cappa! There are two Hermana Cappas and they're over the whole Santiago Centro Zone. Hermana V. and I said goodbye for 24 hours to go on splits with the Hermana Cappas. Tender mercy, I was assigned to a gringa! She's actually going home this week so that kind of stunk (#trunky) BUT she was able to answer a lot (and I had a LOT) of questions. We went and did something called a "Tormenta Blanca" which basically means a group of elders and hermanas go to an area and help out the elders or hermanas assigned to that area. We went to an area in my zone called "Frias" which was a 3 hour bus ride away. SO, we woke up at 3:30am to catch the bus and started working right after we stepped off. "Why Are They All White?"

¡Hola Familia y Amigos! So we had a cita with Exequiel this week to teach him more about prophets, temples, etc. All that good stuff. I pulled out a picture of all the general authorities and Exequiel sat there for a sec before saying, "Why are they all white?" It was pretty funny not going to lie. There's a solid amount of general authorities from South America but they all look white so we tried to explain that.  This week was kind of an odd week. Everyday was super overcast and rainy and Hermana Horton and I just kinda felt weird. At least 3 times once a day we'd look at each other and say something like, "Why is today so weird?" I think we were letting the weather get to us because we actually had a VERY productive week. The Sister Training Leaders came over yesterday to verify our weekly planning and they said they've never seen a companionship work so effectively.
