soooooo CHIEFS WON THE SUPERBOWL!?!?!?!? also kinda robbery numero 2
¡Hola Familia y Amigos!
This week was a week of WINS! Except the Superbowl was like 2 weeks ago but I didn't find out until this week so I'm counting it. ALSO! WE HAD A BAPTISM! We had THREE lessons with Exequiel and he told us he was ready to be baptized. He was an "escogido" as we call them here in the mission. He was chosen and prepared WAY before the missionaries found him. I'm just happy I got to watch him take this step in his life. Now he's asking us about temples and the priesthood and all that AMAZING stuff so Hermana McKinlay is crying happy tears.
Had lots of interactions with drunk people this week. Jujuy has this big fiesta called "Carnival" where everyone basically worships the devil and dresses up in freaky looking outfits. I'll attach a photo below. Everyone gets really drunk and parties for about 3 weeks so Hermana Horton and I are going to have to be really careful because things have already started getting a little sketch and Carnival isn't for another 2 weeks. The other day a drunk guy tried to steal my bike and when Hermana Horton told him to knock it off he decided to try and kiss her. Whipped out some sassy spanish real quick for that one. He kept asking us if we had 5 pesos for a cigarette and we keep saying no. Third time he asked (and we said no) he paused, looked at my bike, and says, "Ok. Well then I'm going to take this bike." I
Lots of rain and lots of lessons. We contacted a house and immediately started teaching the 12 year old girl who answered the door. We gave her a Book of Mormon and invited her to read two chapters in Alma. Less than 24 hours later, we knocked on her door to check in on her reading and see if she had any questions. She answered the door and before saying anything else said, "I'm two verses away from finishing!" So basically........she's amazing and I love her. Her name is Ayelin and we've taught her 3 lessons in 2 appointments andddddd PUT A BAPTISMAL DATE! Today we were riding around on bikes taking pictures of our area, because we can't carry our cameras when we're working during the week, and we ran into her. She's so cute and when I asked her if she wanted to take a picture with us she got so excited. Try and tell me she's NOT the cutest thing you've EVER seen in your LIFE!
Hermana Horton and I are still loving life together. We're praying President will keep us together for another transfer. We have about a million theories about General Conference in April and want to be together to watch it. Also we're really bad at budgeting and spent all of our money last pday so we're very poor right now haha.
I can't remember anything that happened this week. It's all a blur. Time is flying this transfer and all I do with Hermana Horton is laugh and try to keep up with her on the bikes. I'm giving a talk on the Restoration in Sacrament Meeting this week so pray for me with that.
Also there's an elder in my district who's from ENGLAND! He has the coolest accent and anytime I talk to him I feel like I'm meeting a member of OneDirection.
Love you all! Feed the missionaries this week! Also make time to go to the temple!
Love love loveeee,
Hermana McKinlay
Hermana HORTON had to change her plaque here because the letter H doesn't have a sound in spanish and without the H sound her last name sounds like a bad word hahahahahahaha
