Trying to Make Post (Malone) Proud
¡Hola Familia y Amigos!
So this week Hermana Oldoryd and I rapped happy birthday to an elder in our mission and it was...epic. We laugh a lot. Like.....a lot.
Serving in the Spanish YSA (Young Single Adults [trying to get married!]) ward is SO fun. I have never been so busy in my life. There is just so much to do. There have been multiple nights where Hermana Oldroyd and I haven't been able to eat dinner because we have just been go-go-goin. I love it though. I wouldn't trade it for anything. We are teaching some AMAZING people.
One of which is Javier. Javier is straight golden. He is so prepared and he came to church on Sunday and loved it. So many of the members have been present in lessons and he has lots of friends. One of which is a recent convert named Pedro. I love Pedro and he is one of the best ward missionaries ever! Speaking of recent converts, this week Hermana Oldroyd and I were able to video call Roberto! Roberto was found by Hermana Oldroyd but lives in the SLWC mission boundaries so he was passed off to the elders over there and baptized in the Pioneer YSA ward. This week he reached out to us to tell us he is getting the priesthood! I didn't even really know Roberto and I was losing it during the call. It was such a cool experience getting to see someone so converted! Roberto is awesome and when we asked him if he would be interested in serving a mission he said, "Ya I want to talk to the bishop about that on Sunday" Tears. Alligator tears from Hermana McKinlay.
Hermana Oldroyd and I are heading the instagram for the mission so give our pages a follow! @elegiracristo and @ourjourneytochrist. The English page is a work in progress but this week we filmed some BOMB videos which will soon be making their appearances. We have had some really cool meetings since being in charge of the instagram pages. I'm learning HECKA marketing skills. Hermana Oldroyd and I got to meet with this super cute lady named Ashton and she helped give us some great marketing tips. Social media is insane. The littlest things make the biggest difference. Instagram is great and all but sometimes I'm like.......I'm never touching social media after my mission hahahaha. So high-maintenance.
That's a lame update but an update nonetheless. My next 4 emails will be fireeeeee I promise.
Love love loveeeee,
Hermana McKinlay
