THINGS! ARE! GOING! TO! GET! BETTER! OK?!

 ¡Hola Familia y Amigos!

 

Transfers happen next week and Hermana Skinner and I are not here for it. This transfer was long but to think it's almost over...what?!?!

 

This last week was also really long. But sweet Elder Pappa from la mision Salta Argentina sent me some scriptures of animo so we are about to tackle this week!!! Shoutout to Elder Pappa! Extraño la MAS!

 

Basically Hermana Skinner and I taught a lot of English classes. We also had interviews with President Christensen, Zone Council, a hike, and 2 sacrament meetings! It was good to go back to church, even if we have to wait another 3 weeks until our ward meets again.

 

This week I decided to study "Tomorrow the Lord Will Do Wonders among You" by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. It's based off of Joshua 3:5 and is sooo good. Exactly what I needed this week. Here are some of the things I love from his talk:

  • the great thing about the gospel is we get credit for trying, even if we don’t always succeed. 
  • the Lord blesses those who want to improve, who accept the need for commandments and try to keep them, who cherish Christlike virtues and strive to the best of their ability to acquire them. If you stumble in that pursuit, so does everyone; the Savior is there to help you keep going.
  • the first great commandment of all eternity is to love God with all of our heart, might, mind, and strength—that’s the first great commandment. But the first great truth of all eternity is that God loves us with all of His heart, might, mind, and strength.
  • If we give our heart to God, if we love the Lord Jesus Christ, if we do the best we can to live the gospel, then tomorrow—and every other day—is ultimately going to be magnificent, even if we don’t always recognize it as such. Why? Because our Heavenly Father wants it to be! He wants to bless us. A rewarding, abundant, and eternal life is the very object of His merciful plan for His children! It is a plan predicated on the truth “that all things work together for good to them that love God.”10 So keep loving. Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever.
  • His divine love and unfailing help will be with us even when we struggle—no, will be with us especially when we struggle.

I'll put the link down below. It is so so good and me pasting a few of the parts I liked just doesn't do it justice so instead I will invite you to go and read (or listen) to the words of a living apostle of our Savior Jesus Christ :)

¡Hola Amigos y Familia! If you know you know. This week went by reallllllyyyyy slow not going to lie. Patience is a virtue....I lack. I'm working on it.  Last week after p-day I had "divisiones" with a Hermana Cappa! There are two Hermana Cappas and they're over the whole Santiago Centro Zone. Hermana V. and I said goodbye for 24 hours to go on splits with the Hermana Cappas. Tender mercy, I was assigned to a gringa! She's actually going home this week so that kind of stunk (#trunky) BUT she was able to answer a lot (and I had a LOT) of questions. We went and did something called a "Tormenta Blanca" which basically means a group of elders and hermanas go to an area and help out the elders or hermanas assigned to that area. We went to an area in my zone called "Frias" which was a 3 hour bus ride away. SO, we woke up at 3:30am to catch the bus and started working right after we stepped off. "Why Are They All White?"

¡Hola Familia y Amigos! So we had a cita with Exequiel this week to teach him more about prophets, temples, etc. All that good stuff. I pulled out a picture of all the general authorities and Exequiel sat there for a sec before saying, "Why are they all white?" It was pretty funny not going to lie. There's a solid amount of general authorities from South America but they all look white so we tried to explain that.  This week was kind of an odd week. Everyday was super overcast and rainy and Hermana Horton and I just kinda felt weird. At least 3 times once a day we'd look at each other and say something like, "Why is today so weird?" I think we were letting the weather get to us because we actually had a VERY productive week. The Sister Training Leaders came over yesterday to verify our weekly planning and they said they've never seen a companionship work so effectively.
